Vanessa’s primary intention is to be assessing the client’s physical condition and planning a session to maximize results. It includes the assessment of soft tissue condition, joint quality function, and muscle strength. I use proper application of hand pressure to specific points engaging clients and drawing out necessary information to enhance the massage session. I like to stay informed of the latest research in the industry and to implement new techniques into massage sessions.
My areas of proficiency are: Structural Bodywork and Movement Injury Massage Lymphatic drainage Swedish/Deep Tissue Massage Trigger Point and Rehabilitation Sports Massage.
Hello! I’m Cora, a licensed massage therapist with a passion for helping others feel more at home in their bodies. I specialize in therapeutic massage, as well as prenatal and postpartum care.
My passion for massage therapy was reignited through my own experience of having two children back-to-back, which sparked a strong desire to support other mothers in finding relief, restoration, and peace in their bodies.
I believe in the healing power of intentional, compassionate touch and strive to create a safe, nurturing space where clients can unwind, release tension, and reconnect with themselves. I’m honored to be part of the Heaven’s Touch Spa & Wellness team and look forward to supporting you on your wellness journey!
Ashley, our Master Esthetician, brings nearly a decade of unparalleled experience to our spa. Many of you may remember that she was our very first esthetician when we opened our doors in 2019.
With a background in Ayurvedic techniques and an expert grasp of the latest advancements in skincare, Ashley seamlessly blends timeless traditions with contemporary innovations. Her true passion lies in nurturing clients to embrace their natural beauty, ensuring they leave feeling both radiant and self-assured. She specializes in acne and sensitive skin types as she struggled with these skin concerns during her late teens and early twenties. She is also well versed in aging skin and hyperpigmentation.
Joycelyn Barkers-woode is a faith-driven entrepreneur and founder of Heaven’s Touch Spa & Wellness. Born and raised in Ghana, she served as a police officer before moving to the United States to pursue a career in healthcare guided by her nurturing heart and desire to care for others. While working as a health care provider at Mary Washington Hospice, a patient once told her, “Your hands feel like heaven.” That moment became a calling. Joycelyn transitioned into massage therapy, discovering that her gift for comforting others was not just a skill — it was a purpose. After graduating from National Massage Therapy Institute, Joyclen worked at a spa for 7 years learning, and studying the spa industry very well and asking God for directions. Joycelyn became confident to establish Heavens Touch Spa & Wellness in 2016. Joycelyn’s attention to her clients' needs led her to collaborate with other wellness and beauty professionals to bring their expertise, which enabled her to expand to a full spa service to better serve her community. Today, Heaven’s Touch Spa & Wellness is a reflection of her faith, compassion, and belief that your God-given gifts can become both ministry and a thriving business to serve people.
Jenevieve, is a licensed esthetician with a thoughtful, whole-person approach to skin health and hair removal. Her work centers on gentle, effective sugaring techniques, skin barrier support, and treatments that respect both the body’s natural rhythms and the nervous system.
With a background influenced by mental-health–adjacent work and wellness education, Jenevieve, brings a calm, attentive presence to each session, prioritizing safety, consent, and individualized care.
She believes that effective skincare and hair removal are not one- size-fits-all, and that lasting results come from working with the body rather than forcing change.
Her specialty is sugaring, with a focus on minimizing irritation, supporting sensitive or reactive skin, and creating a respectful, comfortable experience for every client. She also offers restorative skincare services and personalized treatment plans that balance
corrective techniques with relaxation and regulation, as well as lashes, and dermaplaning.
Jenevieve, is especially passionate about supporting clients who are navigating stress, burnout, or skin sensitivity influenced by lifestyle and environment, and she strives to make each appointment a grounding, supportive experience.
Dr. Yasi is a Doctor of Acupuncture specializing in integrative healthcare and holistic wellness. She is an intuitive practitioner who meets each patient where they are and guides them toward their unique goals and vibrant health.
Her customized treatments draw from multiple modalities, including acupuncture, cupping, sound and light therapy, herbal medicine, and lifestyle/dietary guidance. Some areas of expertise include chronic and acute pain, digestive health, women’s health, insomnia, stress and anxiety, facial rejuvenation, and complex chronic conditions.
Dr. Yasi earned her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from The Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, CA and completed her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. She received her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College. She is a state board licensed acupuncturist in Virginia and California. She is also a Nationally Board-Certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM.
Having recently returned to Virginia from the West Coast with her family, Dr. Yasi enjoys exploring the region’s natural beauty along with its vibrant food and arts community.
